Chabelita's Heart/El corazón de Chabelita

Queer bilingual children's picture book published by Reflection Press (2022). Written and illustrated by Isabel Millán.

“With the support of her loving Chicanx family, a girl named Chabelita discovers it’s okay to like other girls.” At the center of Chabelita’s Heart is the joy and awe of a childhood crush between Chabelita and Jimena. This picture book uniquely bridges sexuality and gender with other major themes such as equality, migration, race/ethnicity, and social justice/activism.
